Shingo is first Battlefield Reporter, whose job it is to interview contestants after they have played a game. He also helps out contestants to get over the 'Great Wall' if they are struggling.
In episode 7, Shingo lead the army of contestants through the games, along with Ultraman, filling in for Tani who was away. In the Guard Special, he acted as Tani's sidekick, and finally appeared in the first New Year Special as a representative of Hokkaido.
